Hello, Mountainside Family!
I am truly excited and honored to serve the Mountainside community. I look forward to a wonderful year as we continue to grow together in all academic areas, socially, and emotionally. Every child who walks through our doors has a unique story to share and a bright future ahead. Together, we will partner to ensure each student reaches their full potential and thrives in all areas.
I have been proud to serve in education since 2010. During that time, I have had the privilege of teaching grades K–5, as well as serving as an instructional coach and assistant principal. I was fortunate enough to move from a neighboring district to FFC8 where I can continue to serve the military community. As a military spouse, I understand the unique challenges many of our families face, and I am deeply committed to supporting both our students and their families.
At home, I am grateful for the love and support of my husband and our three children. You can find us playing in the mountains, hanging out at the movie theater, trying something new, or baking up something good to eat. There isn't much we don't enjoy doing as long as we can do it together.
As we go through the school year, I'd like to thank you for your trust, partnership, and commitment to our Mountainside community. I am honored to be on this journey with you and your family!
Assistant Principal
Julie Christiansen

Hello Mountainside Families! I am excited to be working with you again as your Assistant Principal!
Since beginning my educational career in 2001, I have served as a teacher, instructional coach, principal, and assistant principal in Virginia, Arizona, and Colorado, at both the elementary and middle school levels. I am passionate about creating opportunities for my students to experience the greater world around them, ensuring that they receive the social and academic building blocks to be successful citizens. Outside of school, my time and energy are devoted to enjoying the outdoors with my husband, daughter, and friends, through hiking, camping, horseback riding, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
I am thrilled to return to Mountainside, and I look forward to seeing and talking with our students during morning drop-off, in classrooms, at lunch, and at recess. Families, feel free to reach out at any time with any questions, comments, or concerns.
