Administration
Principal
Eric Owen
It is my privilege to return to Mountainside as principal for the seventh year as I start my fifteenth year as a school administrator. I enjoy working with the wonderful teachers we have at Mountainside. I don't believe that you will find a harder working group of educators anywhere, and the support that we get from our district leadership, parents, and the community we serve is second to none. Our goal for the families that we serve is to make each new school year the best year in the history of Mountainside Elementary School.
A little about myself: I was raised in the Pikes Peak Region, and returned in 2000 after living in Northwest New Mexico and starting a family of my own. I have two children. My daughter is in her second year as a Speech-Language Clinician at a school district in Florida, and my son just transferred back to the region, after attending a small university in Nebraska, to finish college closer to home. I come from a family of educators, and firmly believe that the mission of education is to provide students with the skills necessary to prepare them for success in life. Finally, when I am not at Mountainside, you might see me on the shoulder of the road or a beautiful mountain trail on a bike, or on a lake or reservoir paddling around in my kayak.
I believe Mountainside Elementary School is a special place for children, and I cannot wait for you to discover that as well. Let me be the first to welcome each of you to Mountainside!
Assistant Principal

Greetings! I am excited to join the Mountainside community as your Assistant Principal for this year.
Since beginning my educational career in 2001, I have served as a teacher, instructional coach, principal, and assistant principal in Virginia, Arizona, and Colorado at both the elementary and middle school levels. I am passionate about creating opportunities for my students to become knowledgeable about and experience the greater world around them and ensuring that they receive the social and academic building blocks to be successful citizens. Outside of school, my time and energy are devoted to enjoying the outdoors with my husband, daughter, and friends. We cannot get enough hiking, camping, horseback riding, or simply exploring the beautiful state of Colorado.
I am thrilled to work with the Mountainside families, staff, and community to provide our students with the best education and extracurricular experiences possible. Feel free to reach out at any time with any questions, comments, or concerns.
